About
Consciously or not, I have followed a multi-disciplinary approach to life and consider myself a mixed media artist. I have lived in multiple locations but have resided in Taos, New Mexico for the longest period, calling Taos my home for over thirty years.
Nature, various geographies and cultivated landscapes engage my senses, my mind, my spirit. I am an active participant for I believe we are not in a static relationship with our surroundings. Rather, it is a dance as we move through time and space. These varied and accumulated encounters over a lifetime continually transform me, describing journey, creating narrative. In my visual reflections, I enjoy the juxtaposition of contrasting scales, often considering the grand and the minute simultaneously. Likewise, naming the moment calls to my mind the timeless.
Through printmaking and mixed media artworks, I attempt to record my individual experiences, real and imagined. I often work in a series, striving to compose a visual poem or a choreography. While documenting the personal, I aspire to make connection with a larger human understanding and contribute to our greater shared engagement.
Artist Statement
This image is one of a series of monoprints inspired by the impermanence of time, those fleeting moments we either notice or let slip by. Like a shadow, or a cloud, or a breeze, such transience can capture a world of experience, a lifetime of story never to be duplicated in time or space.
