Artist Statement

Integrating paint and ink, encaustic and hand dyed paper, my goal is to transform everyday materials into work that sparks curiosity. I create story using paper, pattern and printing techniques such as screen printing, block prints and lino-cuts, which are applied layer by layer. Intrigued by the complexity of history and change, my work often features partially obscured images, speaking to the history and events that have occurred in a different time and locale - fragments of collective memory. In my work, as in my life, I believe every challenge must be met with curiosity, humor and a dash of mischief!
