About

I create images and photo sculptures that honor abstract and modern art. Large and colorful, emotionally charged, multi-interpretational, three dimensional and useable creations that ignite the senses.

Beginning my college education in Architecture developed my love of the functional. How do I create images that also serve a purpose? There are ways to transform form into function.

Two trips to Europe in my teens were pivotal in bringing my love of Architecture and Photography to the forefront, There was no turning back after seeing the Colosseum, Pantheon, Da Vinci and Picasso. I would manifest art in my everyday life.

An education in film photography and developing taught me technique and patience. Properly exposing small and large format film was good study. Critiques were the best medicine for learning how to accept some advice and disregard some for your own growth. This is a skill that has transferred to my personal life in so many ways.

Artist Statement

My intention with my work is to create a form of abstract painting from a photograph, drawing close in to the color, texture, line and creating abstract arrangements of space and design.

To further this idea, I’ve created a functional art by using backlit film to create structure, moving it off the wall and turning the photographs into something useable. My architectural background guides me in this direction.
