About

Like most artists that I know, we are savers. Our studios have boxes and containers that are full of various papers, ephemera, and odds and ends that "just may be useful" at sometime or another. Because of that possibility, we can’t bear to toss it out. Asian art has always been of interest to me, so I have a drawer in my flat files as well as a shoebox with that label.

I decided to incorporate some of my Japanese rice papers and other materials in a project. This focus resulted in eight abstract collages, B-7 is one from that series. My paintings have always been non-representational and abstract. Also I prefer using a limited palette, just a few colors and their mixes. To me, this is visually more appealing and draws the eye to the line as well as the colors.

Various art forms are of interest to me. Besides collage, I work with oils, acrylics, and encaustics and also do book arts. I have lived in Santa Fe with my husband Michael for over 40 years. Besides art, we enjoy traveling, gardening, and skiing.
