About
Wiley Carter Reid creates work exploring the synchronicities between Islamic mysticism and the environmental ethics of the American West. He currently works and resides in the mountains of Northern New Mexico.
Artist Statement
I am inspired by the fusion of Islamic mysticism and the physical/cultural landscapes of the American West. My abstract work explores the parallels of Qur'anic calligraphy with the linear rhythms found in nature, be it on the grand scale of geographic forms or the minutiae of lichen on limestone in the high desert.
This is Wiley Reid's first TAAC exhibition
