About

I am a New Mexico based painter and sculptor.

I paint with oils, gouache and watercolor. My sculpture is primarily metal.

I've had a rich, 40 year career in metal work, creating countless projects from commercial and architectural metal work to historic metal restoration and reproduction, using copper, bronze, tin plate and steel.

During this time I made and sold many art sculptures and paintings.

I now devote my time to creating art.

Some recent exhibitions have been at Page Coleman Gallery, Ghost Wolf Gallery in Old Town, Albuquerque and The Albuquerque Art Museum.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Surrealists call it automatism. Bob Ross calls it the happy accident. I call it pure luck.

I don't care for washing brushes. I do like watching the color change in the bucket.

Three is always good. For some reason, I like 3.25 better than 3.

Q-tips are my friends. Geologic time, clouds and rocks are daily inspirations.

Spontaneous geometric variations are great fun.

Impressionism, Post Impressionism, Cubism, Dada, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Constructivism, Gabo, Afro, Diebenkorn, Kline, Motherwell, Rothko and Richter are some of my continuing influences.
