About

Drawing from vivid wildlife encounters, Pat infuses her artwork with raw emotion, using various tools and mediums to capture these connections. Her pieces echo natural landscapes, resonating in abstraction on canvas and in her monotype prints.

In 2015, after retiring from a successful career in the travel industry, Pat pursued her lifelong artistic aspirations. She learned from books, online resources, and hands-on workshops, refining her craft through relentless practice.

In early 2019, Pat began intensive training with Master Printmaker Ron Pokrasso, participating in workshops and collaborations. Her monotypes have been exhibited in esteemed New Mexico shows. Pat also enriched her mixed media skills with guidance from instructors like Diane Williams, Chuck Potter, Beverly Todd, and Michael Shemchuk. Her mixed media paintings have been featured in juried exhibitions, with a highlight in 2021 at the 34th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition.

A native of New Mexico with a love for travel, Pat now finds her creative sanctuary in Northern New Mexico.

Artist Statement

My abstract art is inspired by the movement and energy I see in nature. Whether it's an osprey diving for its food, ravens playing in the wind, or a swan's powerful takeoff, these moments drive my creative process. I also love the sight of a giant albatross leaping off a cliff into the wind. These experiences shape my work, allowing me to move through the painting and capture the excitement and beauty of the natural world.
