About

I am a prolific artist and photographer. I studied art under Boston artist Don Moulton and photography with Lee Friedlander. I am self taught and lean towards a modern version of abstract expressionism. My work has been shown in museums, galleries, group shows and festivals. Living in Northern New Mexico inspires my art with the forms and colors of the natural environment and historical images of petroglyphs and pictographs.

Artist Statement

For several years I have been intrigued by graffiti, petroglyphs and pictographs… especially images discovered on stones, walls and buildings. Some have existed for thousands of years.... others a few weeks. These images, words, messages, scratches and drawings pile up on each other over time. Like an archeologist who uncovers mysteries about society as they dig back through a site; my art layers one image on top of another. Indeed, the flat surface of canvas, paper and digital take on a new dimension when images and symbols are layered.
