Artist Statement
I find myself constantly drawn to configurations of shapes and lines of objects I see regularly in my daily life. These figures become story-tellers, a sort of anthropomorphizing- in my art. I love looking for the playful interaction of these elements in the world around me, and then letting the images percolate in my brain until they spill out, transformed, into my prints. I often combine multiple printmaking techniques to create layers of color and texture, sometimes starting with a photographic image, and building on top, playing with the relationships implied by the placement of shapes. In this way, I aim to create an implied narrative through my abstractions.
