Lifelong NM resident. I have been an artist in multiple media, including many years in abstract acrylic painting, paper pop up books and cards, and mixed media sculptures. I am also an avid creator of Day of the Dead skulls.
Artist Statement
Having painted abstract acrylics for years, discovering encaustic was a jolting and exciting experience. It is definitely the epitome of multitasking, keeping every wax color, brush, and even the board warm is energizing!! The fluidity is often a total surprise. I think I am most in love with the constant feeling of motion.
