About

Agnieszka Gasparska (b. 1977, Warsaw, Poland) is an artist, designer, educator, and explorer living and working in New York City and northern New Mexico. She holds a BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art, where she was an adjunct professor until 2020.

Drawing on two decades of practice as a visual communicator and information architect, Gasparska's drawings give form to abstract numbers and complex narratives that embody the intricacies of human existence and the sublime in the everyday. Gasparska's creative life embraces both graphic design and fine art, and the two disciplines are in dynamic dialogue in her work. Her drawings were most recently exhibited in solo shows in New York City (January 2023) and in Tucson (January 2024).

Gasparska has also taught at Stevens Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design, and has served as an MFA thesis advisor at the School of Visual Arts. She is the creative captain of Kiss Me I’m Polish, an independent design studio she founded in 2004.

Artist Statement

I see beauty and wonder in the most minute details of every day life and I believe that the most sublime and the most ordinary are inextricably linked. This is the space in which my work moves.

I have worked in many mediums and disciplines but keep coming back to the purity and accessibility of drawing, the simplicity and energy of repetition, and the intimacy of hand-drawn marks on paper. My work seeks to embody time, the cyclical nature of existence, and the interconnectedness of all things.
