Artist Statement
At age 4, I began coloring with crayons—one color at a time and not repeating, but arranging what felt right. My drawings were undulating and multicolored. After those early years, I painted abstract watercolors. Then came representational oils, and I was thrilled to sit on Pacific Coast beaches and paint panoramic skies, surging waves, and surf crashing on rocky shores. Then came landscapes, structures, animals, and people. My perspectives spanned from far to near, my palette from oils to mixed media (oil pastels/colored pencils/ pen and ink/watercolors/acrylics). Currently, I paint primarily abstractions with varying degrees of realism—expressing my creative journey, my feelings, and my sense of life.
