About

I’ve been passionate about art since childhood. In my teenage years I focused mostly on black and white pen drawings and designs. I received professional training in ceramics and sculpture in college and showed my work at Tomé Gallery. I began experimenting with texture and relief paintings in college as well.

In my late 20s I developed an illness and began focusing more on paintings since they were less labor intensive. But it was then, during one of my hardest times that I truly found my calling, combining traditional painting with my skills in sculpture. I’ve been developing those techniques ever since, for over 12 years now. I’ve done live painting at several events like Albuquerque Railyard Market, Tribal Vision Music Festival, Alumbra de Questa, and Questa Art Market and some of my work is on display at Envision Gallery.

Artist Statement

I live off-grid in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and am surrounded by nature, which greatly influences my work. Using mixed media including reused items like cardboard, I create abstract 3 dimensional paintings that often blur the lines between what is considered a painting and a sculpture. I’m especially inspired by patterns that appear in nature when we zoom in or out at different scales, and am on a never ending quest to capture just a tiny fraction of that strange beauty.
