About
American abstract painter and multidisciplinary artist, Chandon Banning, was born in Los Angeles, California, where she developed her artistic career. Currently, she enjoys a creative and contemplative lifestyle in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Chandon primarily uses oil paint and, more recently, encaustics to create large-scale abstract paintings. Her 30- year career in the arts necessitated extensive self-training in fine art, scenic art, architectural finishes, photography, and interior styling. Industry leaders in Los Angeles’ entertainment, fine art, and design industries have praised and sought after her specialized abilities and artistic creations.
Chandon recently, successfully exhibited in Santa Fe’s much anticipated annual “Turquoise Trail Studio Tour,” acquiring new collectors both locally and nationwide.
Artist Statement
I am an American painter and multidisciplinary artist primarily producing large-scale, abstract paintings. My work is often referred to as minimalist, though the pieces grow highly complex and detailed upon approach. By applying rich textures, color/wax layering, intricate pattern formations, and a natural color palette, I create depth and an organic quality in my work. An intense existential curiosity has motivated me to research spirituality, nature, quantum physics, and the human condition. This is where I find the influence and inspiration to create. By fusing passion, insight, intuition, and a mastery level knowledge of paint media, I strive to produce a powerful yet subtle visual representation of my experience. My mission is to inspire and encourage humanity to think deeply about the significance of their existence and that of the collective while witnessing a remarkable piece.
