Artist Statement
After 30 years of commercial art, my art work is graphic in nature with the usage of prominent iconography with bold shapes, colors and lines. A life-long love of birds has come full circle in bold forms in representation on wood panels. My process starts with an broad under-painting, that is then sanded, next, I add additional layers of acrylic paint, and sand again to add layers of color, texture and detail.
This is Howard Weliver's first TAAC exhibition
